This exhibition marks the beginning of a relationship between San Mei Gallery and Rochester Square, showcasing some of the exciting work being made at the ceramics centre in Camden. Rochester Square is a space centred around a ceramics studio with a strong engagement in social aspects of art practice, through workshops, recreation days and communal meals.
The group show of works by fellows of Rochester Square has been curated to reflect the architecture of the space and community at Rochester Square. Clay objects act as figures, sitting on chairs dispersed around the space and gathered around a table. The exhibition is a relocating of these pieces from the studio, allowing them to engage with an unfamiliar environment.
Curated by Milan Tarascas and Francesca Anfossi.
