What happened to the students of the golden age of art and ceramics education in the 1970s? 'Bristol at Brixton' gives us an insight.
Ceramists Fred Gatley and Nigel Hunter are curating an exhibition to showcase the work of former tutors and students who graduated from Bristol 40 years ago.
The show will feature current work by a significant number of alumni who are still making. Whatever their first degree, this exhibition will showcase how those who graduated some 40 years ago are still making. Painters, designers, ceramicists, printmakers and even the current Keeper of the Royal Academy were studying at Bristol in the 1970s.
This showcase will be also be a fascinating prompt for reflecting on the huge change of provision for art and ceramics education today.
